King nearly leads Phoenix into IWFL World Championship game

Despite being short-handed and making the long trip to Montreal, Canada, the Carolina Phoenix came within six yards of advancing to the Independent Women’s Football League World Championship game.
Faced with a fourth and goal from the Montreal six-yard line, Carolina quarterback and Reidsville native Jennifer King had marched her team down the field 75 yards and had one last play to snatch a victory away from the Blitz in a 19-14 loss.

Carolina Phoenix women's football advance in playoffs

The Carolina Phoenix of the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) defeated the Chattanooga Locomotion on Saturday, June 10 by a 42-14 score and have advanced to the next round of the playoffs.  The Phoenix will travel to Montreal to take on the Montreal Blitz on July 10 with a spot in the Tier II IWFL North American Championship Game on the line.

King leading Phoenix to IWFL Playoffs

The Carolina Queens did something no other team could do this season – hand the Carolina Phoenix a defeat.
The Queens did just that with a 36-20 win June 13 in Charlotte as the Independent Women’s Football League prepares for its playoff season.
