King nearly leads Phoenix into IWFL World Championship game

Despite being short-handed and making the
long trip to Montreal, Canada, the Carolina Phoenix came within six
yards of advancing to the Independent Women’s Football League World
Championship game.
Faced with a fourth and goal from the Montreal six-yard line, Carolina quarterback and Reidsville native Jennifer King had marched her team down the field 75 yards and had one last play to snatch a victory away from the Blitz in a 19-14 loss.

Carolina Phoenix women's football advance in playoffs

The Carolina Phoenix
of the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) defeated the
Chattanooga Locomotion on Saturday, June 10 by a 42-14 score and have
advanced to the next round of the playoffs.
The Phoenix will travel to Montreal to take on the Montreal Blitz on July 10 with a spot in the Tier II IWFL North American Championship Game on the line.
